I once read about three Beatniks that traveled the United States in search for the answers. They sought freedom and a deeper experience (which they found better than a predetermined life with its material possessions). What they wanted most was to travel a road that never ended, so that maybe they could forever cloak themselves in truth.
While most game developers declare a home, some prefer to ride down the endless roads. ...But these roads are NOT the ones mentioned above. These are roads of confusion and disorganization. These roads put you in purgatory, trust me.
Today, my team decided that the road life isn't for us; we found a home in the form of Google Drives and I couldn't be happier. You can say what you want about Google, but this ability to create our own communal library is a glorious thing. When a group of game developers work together, they need to be able to communicate and share everything, and this is going to help do just that.
I was once the type of person who could never be tied down long enough to complete even the tiniest game. I was always searching on the road for something new. I moved a long distance, yet I went nowhere.
At the road's end, we know we're doing the right thing by staying. I see our Google Drive as a plot of land. On this land, we will build Paper Soul Theater, each of us working together, several bricks at a time. Even still, I'll miss those roads that never end.
